MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will formally request custody of US Marine Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton only after an arrest warrant has been issue by a court.

DFA spokesman Assistant Secretary Charles Jose said that the current stage is still in the preliminary investigation

“We are still in the preliminary investigation. We will formally request custody once an arrest warrant is issued by the court,” he said in a briefing Thursday.
