NEW YORK, New York — Two years after his stint with the Filipino American Youth Leadership Program, San Francisco native JR Calanoc introduced his post-program project, an online vendor-matching platform One Virtual Source (OVS), to young business leaders June 3 at the Philippine Center.

Following a short networking session, Consul General Mario L. De Leon, Jr. briefed guests on the strong economic performance of the Philippines for the past 15 years, and new business prospects as more investments pour into infrastructure and education, particularly the business process outsourcing and information technology sectors.

Calanoc’s brainchild is designed to help business owners in the United States collaborate with topnotch Filipino technology companies quickly, easily and securely.   The OVS platform creates opportunities for the services of small and medium technology firms in the Philippines to be tapped by US companies, openings that are otherwise very difficult to obtain for businesses of their size due to limited resources.

The CEOs of three companies currently benefitting from the virtual platform, Blast Asia, Orange and Bronze, and Flight Digital Media, gave testimonials and shared best practices through the video conferencing feature on the OVS portal.
