Duterte lambasts EU anew over criticism of his war on drugs
President Rodrigo Duterte lambasted anew members of European Commission for criticizing his controversial war on drugs, calling them ‘idiots,’ as he told Filipino people to only listen to him.
Speaking before the 12th Anniversary of the Army’s Eastern Mindanao Command, President Duterte said he does not care about the International Criminal Court (ICC) which is investigating death of more than 12,000 people under his anti-narcotics drive.
“I don’t care about your ICC. Alam ko na ang depensa ko…Maingay sila…ICC..EJK. Sabi ko shit. Hayaan mo yan sila. Porma-porma. English..English (I know my defense..they were noisy…the ICC, EJK. I said shit, let them be),” he said.
The ICC’s investigation is based on a 77-page complaint filed by a former police officer and a self-proclaimed assassin who claimed he was employed by Duterte’s “death squad” during his term mayor of Davao City before he was elected president.
