Alleged African drug syndicate member, Filipina recruiter nabbed in buy bust

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a female member of the African Drug Syndicate (ADS) and a Filipina recruiter holding P24 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) on Wednesday, undersecretary Jose Gutierrez Jr. said Thursday.

Israeli scholars: Biblical burial box is genuine

Israeli scholars have confirmed the authenticity of a 2,000-year-old burial box that appears to bear the name of a relative of the high priest Caiaphas mentioned in the New Testament, the Israel Antiquities Authority said Wednesday.

Saudi Arabia bans Filipino, Indonesian maids

The spokesman for Saudi Arabia’s Labor Ministry says the kingdom will no longer issue work permits for domestic workers from the Philippines and Indonesia after new hiring guidelines laid out by those nations.
