PHNOM PENH— President Duterte thrilled Filipinos in Cambodia when he belted out his favorite song “Ikaw” in a duet with a Filipina singer here Tuesday night.
Mr. Duterte’s impromptu song number drew loud cheers from some 1,000 Filipinos who were waiting for him to hear his speech.
Prior to Mr. Duterte’s address, three Filipino singers serenaded the crowd with the songs “Christmas in our Hearts” and “The Prayer.” The third song was “Ikaw,” a known favorite of the chief executive.
When “Ikaw” started playing, a microphone was handed to the President, who stood up and went on to sing.
The duet ended with the Filipina singer joining Mr. Duterte on stage to sing the final lines of the song.
