Jazz concert to benefit ‘Yolanda’ survivors

OAKLAND, California—Members of the Pinoy-Pinay Jazz group in the Bay Area will be featured at a benefit concert to raise funds for the survivors of Supertyphoon “Yolanda” (international name: “Haiyan”) in the Philippines.

This special performance will be on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Piedmont Piano Company in Oakland, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature vocalists Lily Alunan, Anna Maria Flechero, Gemma Bulos and Ann Marie Santos, with musical accompaniment by Boy Palacio, Rey Cristobal, Norman Landsberg, Soccorro De Castro, Ben Luis, Mark Foglia, Jonathan Bautista, Claudio Baria, Eddie Ramirez, Bo Razon, and other special guests.

All of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to the American Red Cross, which works closely with the International Red Cross and the Philippine Red Cross. For blues lovers, there will be a benefit performance by the Eldorado Blues Band at the 7 Mile House in Brisbane to raise funds for disaster relief in the Philippines.
