MANILA, Philippines — Tony Blair, former prime minister of the United Kingdom, paid President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. a courtesy on Tuesday.

They had a meeting with Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Antonio Lagdameo Jr., Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Hubert Guevara, and Ilocos Norte Rep. Sandro Marcos.

Blair is now the executive chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.

“They discussed a wide range of topics on bureaucracy and governance based on the best practices in developed countries,” according to a statement from the Office of the Press Secretary.

There were no other details given about the meeting.

Blair made the visit came just barely a month after he met with Marcos during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York where they then discussed initiatives in peace and sustainable development.

The two in their US meeting also talked about the peace process in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), as well as priority issues in the global economy like food security and climate change.
