French, Filipina, son found dead inside parked vehicle in Palawan

CITY OF PUERTO PRINCESA—A French and Filipina couple and their four-year-old son were found dead inside a parked vehicle along a road in Narra, Palawan last Tuesday who police authorities suspected as victims of a shooting incident.

Palawan police head Superintendent Benjamin Acorda Jr., identified the victims as Jean Marc Messina, 54; his wife Jewelyn Emscel Badenas Venturillo, 25; and their son Guiliano Steffal Venturillo Messina.

The bodies of the victims were found inside a white Nissan SUV parked beside the national highway just outside the poblacion of Narra, about 80 kilometers south of Puerto Princesa City.

Investigators were still determining the circumstances behind the suspected murder case. Acorda told the Inquirer they were certain there was foul play involved “since we have recovered empty shells and slugs inside the vehicle.”

The police investigation report stated that when found, the father was seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, his son’s body on the floor of the front passenger seat and the wife in the rear passenger seat.

An Inquirer source among the French expatriate community in Puerto Princesa City said the father was a regular at the local yacht club and was last known to have traveled to Narra “to collect some money.” RAM
