MANILA, Philippines—Two Korean women were victimized by a robber as they were inside a taxi on their way home from a night out on M. H. del Pilar Street in Malate, Manila, on Saturday.

Hwang Eun Hoei, 45, and Kim Seon Ah, 50, told the police that they were headed back to their condominium around 11 p.m. when the driver of the taxi slowed down and a still unidentified man opened the passenger door.

He immediately grabbed the bag of one of the victims, leading to a tug-of-war although the woman managed to get her bag back when she stepped out of the vehicle. The man, however, got into the cab and proceeded to rob the other Korean woman.

She jumped out of the vehicle but lost her bag which contained a phone worth P10,000 and other valuables. While both shaken, the two women were unharmed.
