Passengers, crew of flight PR 102 diverted to Japan airport disembark

MANILA, Philippines — The passengers and crew of the Philippine Airlines flight that was diverted to the Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan, have safely disembarked, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
PR102 made an emergency landing at the Japanese airport on Thursday after one of the planes’ air conditioning units began emitting smoke.
“All 359 passengers and 18 flight deck and cabin crew aboard Philippine Airlines Flight PR102 have safely disembarked from the aircraft,” Philippine Airlines said.
“Our ground operations team at Tokyo Haneda Airport is providing full support, including meals, baggage assistance, and arranging alternative flights to help passengers continue their journey,” it added.

The airline further said the flight landed at Haneda at 3:30 a.m. (Tokyo time) and that the plane was assigned a disembarkation gate at 10 a.m.
PR102 was on the way to Los Angeles.
