Fil-Ams in Connecticut anticipating their 2nd Pistahan

HAMDEN, Connecticut — Excitement is once again in the air as Filipinos in Connecticut gear up for their Second Pistahan sa Connecticut on June 28 at the Hamden High School. Admission is free.

The Pistahan sa Connecticut is a community festival-trade show that promises to provide entertainment and business opportunities for the community.  The Kabuhayang Pinoy will showcase the enterprising spirit of the Fil-Ams with its wide array of “paninda” — from clothing, jewelry, and native foods and snacks. The festival has the support of various community groups.

This year’s trade exhibition has the theme “Health, Wellness and Good Lifestyle for the Whole Family.” This indoor event will offer a wide array of food delicacies, fashion shows, free makeovers, health, wellness and beauty secrets and cooking demos.

Exhibitors will have the opportunity to find agents and distributors for their business products in the region.  The Pistahan will also introduce the Mompreneurs exhibits, a showcase of the wide array of businesses by enterprising moms. It offers an extensive range of home décor, gift, apparel, make-up and cosmetics, accessories and unique art collections.

The 2014 Pistahan will feature “American Idol Star” Jasmine Trias. The Hawaii-born, Filipino American Trias rose to fame on season three of the hit TV talent show where her incredible run in the live finals secured her place in the top three. Admission to Trias’ concert is $ 25.00.
