1M noodle packs from Indonesia to 'Ondoy' victims

MANILA, Philippines—Agriculture Secretary Arthur C. Yap on Friday said, PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk, a global instant noodle manufacturer, will be donating one million packs of instant noodles through the National Food Authority.

Yap said the NFA will ensure that the noodles are distributed in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the National Disaster Coordinating Council to reach all the victims of Tropical Storm "Ondoy."

He said the effort was facilitated by Manny Pangilinan, chairperson of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation which is majority-owned by Metro Pacific Holdings, Inc. MPHI is a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based First Pacific Company Limited, which is controlled by the Salim family of Indonesia.
