THE Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is gearing up for its upcoming Cebu City Philippines Temple open house.
People of all faiths and from all walks of life are expected to troop to the temple complex located on Gorordo Avenue in Lahug starting this Friday, May 21.
The open house will run until June 5.
?The preparations are enormous,? said Elder Cesar A. Perez, Open House Committee chair.
?There are lots of very long meetings, but I think we are ready,? Perez said.
A private tour of the Temple organized for contractors, workers and their families was held last April 30 as a token of appreciation for their dedicated work for the last two years.
Around 800 visitors watched a video to learn about the purpose of temples. They were later led on a tour of the temple where the hosts explained the purpose of each room.
The workers proudly showed their families the areas of the temple where they were assigned to work.
Hundreds of members of the Church will serve as hosts and ushers for the duration of the open house.
These volunteers come from the Church?s congregations in Cebu province and the neighboring Visayan islands and Mindanao.
The public is invited to come to the open house. Daily tours start at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. every Monday and 8 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday, except Sunday.
