Western Union launches back-to-school campaign for consumers to ‘support a scholar’ and win a ‘tablet a day’

 ENGLEWOOD, Colorado  – Western Union (NYSE: WU), a leader in global payments, launched the back-to-school season by launching two new campaigns:

  • The Western Union® Support a Scholar Sweepstakes for ten consumers to have a chance to win US$10,000 now through October 7, 2012, and
  • The Western Union® Tablet-A-Day Sweepstakes for consumers to have a chance to win a new Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 2 10.1 every day now through September 30, 2012.

For the Support a Scholar Sweepstakes, consumers will be entered for a chance to win US$10,000 every time they send a qualifying money transfer within the United States from participating Agent locations or online at www.westernunion.com; or to the Philippines from participating Agent locations. Western Union will award one grand prize winner each week through October 7, 2012. Consumer should visit www.westernunion.com/scholarsweeps for more details about the Support a Scholar Sweepstakes.

For the Tablet-A-Day Sweepstakes, consumers should visit www.tabletadaysweeps.com to enter for a chance to win the Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 2 10.1 tablet. Western Union will randomly select one winner per day through September 30, for a total of 63 recipients to be announced on the contest website.

No purchase is necessary to enter either sweepstakes, and entry into each is subject to Official Rules.
