MANILA, Philippines – South Korea has offered $200,000 worth of in-kind relief assistance for the “immediate recovery” and “rehabilitation” of Philippine flood victims.

In a statement sent via e-mail to reporters Wednesday, the South Korean Embassy in Manila said Hye Min Lee, Korean Ambassador to the Philippines, wrote to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman informing her about the said.

The statement said Lee also extended his sympathies and condolences to the Philippine flood victims in the letter.
“The [South] Korean Embassy will closely coordinate with the Philippine government regarding the turnover of the relief items,” the statement added.
