Korean reported missing in Romblon found dead

CITY OF CALAPAN, Philippines—A Korean national who was reported missing Wednesday was found dead Thursday morning, submerged in the deep basin of Busay Falls in San Fernando town in Romblon province.

The body of Jae-Uk Jung, 41, a native of Seung Nam-si Gyeonggi province in South Korea, was found by a police rescue team and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office at about 8:35 a.m. after an almost 19-hour search since the victim was reported missing by his companion at around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Senior Inspector Ledilyn Ambonan, information officer of Romblon police, said Jung, together with his friends, went to the falls in Barangay (village) Panangcalan for a swim Wednesday afternoon. Jung’s companion Kyung Rae Kim reported him missing to police after they had

noticed he was no longer with them.

Jung’s body was taken to the rural health unit for autopsy as investigation into the incident was being conducted./rga
