Duterte to raise OFW assistance budget to P1B

President Rodrigo Duterte in his second State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday said he will raise the government’s budget for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) assistance to P1 billion.

“To ensure that their rights protected, I ordered the increase of our assistance for the OFW from P400 million to more than P1 billion,” Duterte said in his speech.

The Chief Executive recognized the significant contribution of Filipino workers abroad to the growth of the country’s economy.  JPV
