Pence says Trump to attend Asean summit in PH

JAKARTA, Indonesia – U.S. Vice President Mike Pence says President Donald Trump will be attending a summit with the leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or Asean, in the Philippines in November.

Pence says Trump will also attend the East Asia Summit that follows the regional meetings in the Philippines that same month.

Pence is announcing the presidential trip after meeting in Jakarta with Asean officials.


Pence also met with a group of young people who are involved with the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative.

Trump is also expected to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam in November.
