THE FAMILY Appliance notched their second win in a row as they toppled the Pier One-Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles, 61-52, in the Jr. Cebu Basketball Association over at the former’s homecourt at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) gym.

Manned by the core of the reigning Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) juniors champions CEC Dragons, Family Appliance bumrushed the Magis Eagles in the first half as they established a double-digit advantage which held up until the final buzzer.

Lyle Sumayang ended up with 25 points to pace the winners. Julius Cadavis and Dave Yu led Pier One, which are headed to the national finals of the National Basketball Training Center Elite League later this month in Bacolod, with 15 and 11 points, respectively.

In the other game, the Ave Maria Sanctuary and Park bounced back from their opening day loss to Family Appliance by besting the Athletes for Christ in Excellent Service (ACES), 72-66. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
