PH embassy in Israel closed until further notice following Hamas attack

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Embassy in Israel will be temporarily closed from October 8 until further notice, following the Palestinian militant movement’s surprise attacks that killed at least 150 people and injured many more on Saturday, October 7.

“The public is advised that the Philippine Embassy will be CLOSED beginning Sunday, 08 October 2023, and until further notice, due to the current security situation,” the embassy said in a Facebook post.

“For emergencies, please contact the Embassy’s emergency number, +972-54-4661188,” it added.

Earlier, the Department of Migrant Workers said it is closely monitoring the situation of Filipinos in Israel after the Israel Home Front Command raised a State of War alert in the country following the surprise assault by Hamas.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said also on Saturday that so far they have not received any report regarding death among the Filipino community in Israel amid the conflict.
