Building bridges: GTBA and TPB unite in a courtesy meeting
To be in the tourism industry that constantly evolves, the significance of collaboration and open communication cannot be overstated. A recent courtesy meeting between the Global Tourism Business Association (GTBA) and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) brought together key stakeholders from the tourism industry to discuss and unveil a captivating array of tourism initiatives that promise to highlight the beauty of the Philippines.
Led by Michelle Taylan, the founder of GTBA and a former PTAA President, a delegation of GTBA officers orchestrated a visit to meet with Marga Nograles, the Chief Operating Officer of TBP. The primary agenda of the meeting centered around discussing over forthcoming plans and earnestly seeking support for their upcoming initiatives.
Additionally, the spotlight was cast upon Mindanao as an emerging destination in our country. COO Nograles sentiment resonated with the GTBA team, emphasizing the time has come for Mindanao to claim its place as one of the top destinations in the Philippines. Showing their commitment in supporting TBP, GTBA pledged to craft promotional packages tailored especially to highlight the beauty of Mindanao. This aims to entice travelers, both local and international, to explore and embrace the culture and unique experiences that the region has to offer.
Invitation to GTBA’s Travel Sale Expo was also given. The expo, to be held this September 29 to October 1, 2023 at the Megatrade Hall of SM Megamall, is in partnership with Oneklik events and is co-presented by Unionbank. Tourism pioneers, Ambassadors and leaders are expected to attend, with DOT Secretary Frasco as the guest of honor and speaker of the event. The meeting concluded on a promising note, marked by a commitment to future collaborations and a harmonious relationship between the two parties.
