Foreigners may enter PH starting May 1

Except for those coming from India or with a history of travel to India, foreign nationals may enter the Philippines starting May 1 as long as they meet certain conditions.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. said the eased travel restrictions will apply to foreigners covered by previous issuances of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

At an online briefing on Friday, Roque said foreign nationals such as investors and long-term Philippine visa holders will be allowed entry into the country starting May 1.

“They are, however, subject to conditions, such as they must have a valid and existing visa at the time of entry, except for those qualified under Balikbayan Program under Republic Act [No.] 6768, or the Act Instituting the Balikbayan Program,” Roque said, citing IATF Resolution No. 113.

Allowed foreign nationals are required to have a prebooked accommodation for at least seven nights in an accredited hotel.
