LOOK: Philippine Navy officials tour US submarine
MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Navy officials had a chance to tour a US submarine USS Greeneville (SSN772) and submarine tender USS Emory Land (AS 39) which docked in Palawan early this week.
Naval Forces West deputy commander Capt. Carlos Sabarre and Submarine Group head Capt. Edwin Nera were among the guests of the Los-Angeles fast attack submarine last Dec. 10, a statement from the US Pacific 7th Fleet said.
Cmdr. Terry Nemec, commanding officer of the USS Greeneville, took the chance to highlight the Philippine-US alliance, citing the continued bilateral and multilateral exercises of both navies.
USS Emory Land also hosted some 139 Filipino guests.
“The crews of the Greeneville and Land continue to impress our regional partners with their dedication and professionalism during recent visits,” Capt. Michael D. Luckett, Land’s commanding officer was quoted as saying.
