Filipina groped by Pakistani man in Dubai
A Pakistani man is under trial after he was accused of groping a Filipina at a supermarket in Dubai.
Khaleej Times reported that the 28-year-old Pakistani carpenter was absent during the first court hearing of the case on Sunday. The 32-year-old Filipina, who works as an assistant manager, claimed that the suspect touched her posterior and tried to flee in an incident that occurred last Dec. 19.
“I had just picked up a garbage bin to buy and was carrying it before walking to the cashier when I felt someone hand’s on my behind. It was the defendant. He ran away when I hit him with the bin,” she said.
The overseas Filipino worker’s story was supported by a CCTV footage, which captured the whole groping incident.
The man had slyly admitted the accusation, saying he touched the Filipina “by mistake.” He is scheduled to be sentenced in absentia on May 30.
A similar case has been documented by Dubai police back in December 2014, when a 10-year-old Filipino girl was groped by a Pakistani man inside a grocery store. The suspect was arrested after a CCTV footage showed him doing his indecent act to the victim. Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
