The four Hong Kong nationals arrested in the 50-meter fish carrier vessel that allegedly served as a “floating shabu laboratory” denied involvement in the complaint filed against them before the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Win Fai Lo, 42; Shu Fook Leung, 49; Kam Wah Kwok, 47 and Kwok Tung Chan, 29 are facing a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“They said they have nothing to do with the charge,” the lawyer from the Public Attorneys Office said during Wednesday’s inquest proceeding.

The four Hong Kong nationals opted not to answer the case filed against them by the Philippine National Police-Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (PNP-AIDG) but requested that they be allowed to coordinate with the Chinese embassy for assistance.

They were arrested last July 11 inside the unmarked fishing vessel along the coast of Barangay Calapandayan, Subic, Zambales.

Police found a plastic bag containing suspected shabu weighing about 500 grams from one of the respondents.

Authorities also seized mobile phones and hydrogenerator.

Earlier, PNP Director General Ronald dela Rosa, who boarded the fishing vessel, said boat was being used to bring illegal drugs to the Philippines from abroad.

Senior State Prosecutor Juan Pedro Navera who conducted the inquest proceeding has already submitted the case for resolution. CDG
