Filipinos are 2nd-most avid watchers of TV—survey

MANILA, Philippines—Filipinos are the second-most avid watchers of television in the world, according to a survey released by Asean DNA, a site that promotes a better understanding of the Southeast Asian Nations, or Asean.

According to the survey, Filipino television watchers spend an average of 21 hours a week glued to the boob tube.

Thais each spend the longest period of time watching TV at 22. 4 hours a week, the survey said.

Comparatively Indonesians each spend an average of 19.7 hours a week before the television; Americans, 19 hours; Japan, 17.9 hours; China 15.7 hours; and South Korea 15.2.
