12 Vietnamese fishermen rescued off Palawan
MANILA, Philippines—Twelve Vietnamese fishermen were rescued off Palawan, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Thursday.
They were brought to the Camp General Artemio Ricarto Station Hospital for check-up and treatment, Philippine Navy Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Edgar Abogado informed Vietnam People’s Navy Commander-in-Chief Vice Admiral Nguyen Van Hien.
Four of them sustained minor injuries, the DFA said quoting a report of the Philippine Embassy in Hanoi.
The 12 Vietnamese were rescued by Filipino fishermen on July 28, the DFA said.
“At present, the 12 Vietnamese fishermen are under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Immigration, the government agency in-charge of their disposition,” it said.
