Korean found dead in Negros Occidental
NEGROS OCCIDENTAL—A 54-year-old Korean was found dead on Thursday in a cottage of Mambukal Mountain Resort in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia town, Negros Occidental province, police said.
Senior Insp. Norberto Barniso, Murcia police chief, said the victim, identified as Sein Jang, 54, was found sitting on the floor of the cottage, with a necktie around his neck and attached to the headboard of his bed, around 8 a.m.
Barniso said the body of the victim was in an advanced state of decomposition when the cottage was inspected by Murcia policemen.
He said police found no sign of struggle at the cottage of Jang, and his personal belongings were intact.
The discovery was made after a resort employee went to the cottage of Jang, who had not come out of the cottage for three days, to change the bedding.
Police recovered a passport, wallet, a Visa card, three Korean bankbooks and a diary of the victim from the cottage where the victim had been staying.
