MANILA, Philippines—Nearly four months after Super Typhoon “Yolanda” brought unprecedented damage to Eastern Visayas, the United Nations is still continuing the support that they started since day one.
Valerie Amos, UN humanitarian chief, will visit Guiuan and Tacloban on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing relief efforts with government officials.
According to a statement from the UN, Amos will assess the relief operations and humanitarian response on the areas that were ravaged by “Yolanda.” She will be there until Thursday.
UN said that though the government-led relief efforts have made strides, “millions of people” still require “urgent” help to get them back to normalcy.
Amos had two previous visits in the country in November of 2013.
