Embassy finance officers attend transparency seminar

SAN FRANCISCO—Finance officers of the Philippine embassies and consulates in the Americas attended a retooling seminar Jan. 27-30.

The training was in line with President Aquino’s mandate to bring greater efficiency, transparency and accountability in the budget and expenditure and reporting process.

Officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Commission on Audit conducted the seminar.

They briefed the participants on public management reforms, accounting and auditing rules and regulations, among others finance subjects.
