Aussie trader shot, wounded by robbers in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines—An Australian businessman was shot and wounded by motorcycle-riding robbers who took his bag containing P500,000 worth of cash and jewelry on Timog Avenue, Quezon City on Monday.
Peter William McKay, 59, was taken to Jesus Delgado Memorial Hospital for a gunshot wound in the thigh.
Case investigator SPO1 John Sales said McKay had just come from a bank where he withdrew money for his coffee shop on Scout Limbaga when the robbers blocked his path and asked him to give them his bag at the corner of Scout Rallos and Scout Torillo Streets at 11 a.m.
When he resisted, they shot him and grabbed the bag, which contained his money, a diamond ring and a gold necklace.—Julie M. Aurelio
