MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) advised all passport applicants in Manila who were unable to make it to their appointment last August 19 and 20 due to the rains and floods to come instead on August 24 and 31.

“Applicants who had appointments on Aug 19 and 20 need not secure a new appointment,” DFA said in a text advisory.

Applicants simply have to present their proof of appointment on 19 and 20 and they will be accommodated.

Tropical storm “Maring” enhanced the southwest monsoon which brought record rainfall and flooding in Metro Manila and several nearby provinces for a couple of days.

A state of calamity was declared in at least five provinces and several cities and municipalities while work in government offices and classes in schools and universities were cancelled because of the flooding.
