MANILA, Philippines—Robbery charges were filed Thursday against three Iranian brothers after they reportedly held up a fellow Iranian of more than P200,000 in Pasig City.
PO3 Rustom Valdez said the case was filed against the Rahmati brothers—Amir, Mohammad and Reza—in the City Prosecutor’s Office. Valdez said the Rahmatis were identified by Dae Seyedreza Mousawi, 24, as the ones who robbed him at knife-point in Metrowalk around 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
The brothers then allegedly took his cash and valuables amounting to P280,000. However, the police conducted a follow-up operation on Thursday, resulting in the Rahmatis’ arrest at their condominium unit in Barangay (village) Wack Wack, Mandaluyong City.
mir, meanwhile, told investigators that Mousawi, who is his schoolmate at the University of the East in Manila, had borrowed P200,000 from him and that he was only trying to collect what was owed him.—Kristine Felisse Mangunay
