MANILA, Philippines – An international flight scheduled to arrive here from Kuala Lumpur was diverted Friday afternoon as heavy rains continued to pour in Metro Manila, the Manila International Airport Authority said.

In an afternoon advisory, the MIAA Media Affairs Division said Malaysian Airlines flight 704 from Kuala Lumpur bound for Manila was diverted to the Mactan airport in Cebu.

The flight was supposed to land at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at 2:05 p.m. Friday but due to bad weather, authorities diverted it to Cebu instead.
