MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday said that a Book of Condolence would be opened for the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo for members of the diplomatic corps in the Philippines.

“In connection with the passing of Secretary Jesse Robredo, a Book of Condolence will be opened at the DFA from August 23 to August 24 for the diplomatic and consular missions and international organizations in the Philippines who wish to convey their condolences,” Raul Hernandez, DFA spokesman, said in a text message.

Hernandez added that books of condolences would also be opened in foreign-service posts around the world.

Earlier, Malacañang announced that it had opened a Book of Condolence for Robredo for Philippine embassies and consulates around the world to give diplomats and overseas Filipinos the chance to send their messages and sympathies to the families and friends of Robredo.
