Bantay OCW airs over GMA News TV International
Bantay OCW (Ang Boses ng OFW) can now be watched through the international feed of GMA News TV International.
Viewers overseas can tune in to this public service program dedicated to wide-ranging OFW topics and migration issues four times a week in Japan, Guam, Australia, New Zealand, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, US Pacific-Vancouver and US Eastern-Toronto via GMA News TV International channel. The program started airing last June.
Bantay OCW is very thankful to Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., president and chief operating officer of GMA Network, Inc. and Joseph Jerome T. Francia, vice president and head of operations of GMA International for believing and supporting the unmatched advocacies of Bantay OCW for OFWs.

Launched in 2011, GMA News TV International primarily airs news programs (in conjunction with GMA Network’s news department and others), along with other factual programs such as documentaries and current affairs programming. It is also a compliment to its two other international channels (GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV).

Couple duped more than P1M by illegal recruiters? These cases are what we call “lumang tugtugin na” (“It’s an old refrain.”) I recall when I was in Manila, living along Dos Castillas Street, adjacent to Ramon Magsaysay High School, I once observed a whole block of the street filled with jeepneys packed with aspiring OFWs. I asked one of the passengers what was up. One told me, these vehicles came from provinces. The passengers waited at the airport expecting to depart for jobs abroad that day. However, their recruiter did not show up. The missing recruiter had earlier set up a temporary recruitment office on Dos Castillas Street. Why can’t our government stop these illegal recruiters? They should be punished with the death penalty so that others will not do the same. – Marlou Wang of Taiwan
