Even FiIipinos in US praying for Dolphy
MANILA, Philippines — The Filipino community in the United States are all praying for the speedy recovery of actor-comedian Rodolfo “Dolphy” Vera Quizon, his friend and actress Nova Villa said Saturday.
Villa, who just arrived in the country around 6 a.m., went straight to Makati Medical Center to check on Dolphy’s condition upon hearing the news all the way from Los Angeles, she said.
“Naiiyak ako talaga kasi iyong mga Pilipino sa America . . . they are saying, ‘Tita Nova, pakisabi kay Tito Dolphy mahal na mahal namin s’ya . . . were pryaing for him,'” teary-eyed Villa told reporters.
Villa said she was originaly scheduled to travel back to the Philippines on June 23 but decided to come earlier instead.
“Balitang-balita sa Àmerica what happned to Tito Dolphy kaya nagmadali ako. I changed my flight to [June] 19 so I would be here on 21,” she said.
