The repatriation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Syria continues with another batch of OFWs coming back to the country this week.

In a statement released by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Tuesday, 14 OFWs were expected to arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport around 10 pm today on board Emirates flight EK 334. Meanwhile, nine more OFWs would be coming home around 4:30 pm Thursday on board Emirates flight EK 332.

This development has brought to 1619 the total number of OFWs removed from Syria as of today, the DFA said in the statement.

Syria has been under crisis alert level 4 since December 2011.
