Remains of PNP colonel in US air crash to arrive on Feb. 20

MANILA, Philippines — The remains of the Philippine National Police (PNP) colonel who died in an air crash in Washington, D.C. will arrive in the country on Thursday and will be brought to Camp Crame in Quezon City next week for viewing.
PNP Public Information Office chief Col. Randulf Tuaño said Supply Management Division chief Police Col. Pergentino Malabed’s remains will arrive in the country on February 20.
“We received a message from his wife that his remains will arrive here at 7:45 a.m. on February 20. It will be brought to Camp Crame on February 27 for viewingg,” Tuaño said in a press briefing on Monday.

Mabaled was among the 67 people onboard the American Eagle Flight 5342 that collided with a United States Army helicopter near Reagan Washington National Airport last January 29.
The police force said Mabaled was on official travel “fulfilling his duty, committed to the service of protecting and securing both the PNP and the nation.”
