From pro bono cases to a possible seat in the House of Representatives.

This sums up Atty. Luisito D. Redoble’s journey as he runs for the congressional seat in Las Piñas City in the 2025 midterm elections.

Atty Louie Redoble

Known to many as “Cong Louie,” Redoble has built a career around legal advocacy for under-served communities. His bid for Congress brings his years of public service to the forefront, offering an alternative voice that speaks directly to the needs of everyday Filipinos.

His path hasn’t been without its share of challenges. Born into a modest family as the youngest of eight siblings, Redoble started working at a young age, polishing shoes in third grade to contribute to household income. Despite these early challenges, he excelled academically, graduating as valedictorian in high school, and later an academic awardee equivalent to Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Accountancy from the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R). He already demonstrated his leadership in campus politics, when he became the President of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants-USJ-R Chapter. And his plunged to grassroots politics started when he a won a seat as Barangay Kagawad of Barangay 409, Sampaloc Manila.

Redoble also worked with respected firms in Manila, like A.P. Acyatan & Co. and Bayer Philippines, balancing his full-time work with law studies at Arellano University School of Law, where he earned the Dean’s Award for Legal Research and Writing.

His professional background is more than just a list of titles; it is a testament to years of commitment in fields that intersect with his advocacy. As a lawyer, certified public accountant, law professor, and socio-civic advocate, he brings a well-rounded perspective to his campaign. He has devoted a bulk of his time doing pro bono services while working at the Baltazar Redoble & Temprosa Law Firm, often representing residents of Las Piñas who face legal challenges such as ejection cases, debt disputes, and forced evictions without proper relocation.

For Redoble, the legal system should be accessible to all, not just those who can afford it. His efforts to extend the long arm of the law reflect this belief and serve as a testimony to help the underprivileged.

But his commitment to helping the community goes beyond the courtroom. Redoble was instrumental in organizing the Las Piñas Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) Cooperatives, created to provide financial support, discounted goods, and resources to local tricycle drivers and operators. Among others, its programs are aimed at enhancing the financial resilience of members, protection from predatory lending practices, and creating pathways toward sustainable livelihoods.

As a member of the Alyansa ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (ANIM), Redoble has advocated for reforms that include eradicating political dynasties, which he has described as a “virus” within the government. His stance reflects a commitment to transparency and equity in representation, calling for a political environment that serves citizens rather than entrenched family powers. His

platform strongly supports electoral reforms and governance that uplift everyday Filipinos rather than reinforcing old hierarchies.

Alongside his legal and advocacy work, Redoble has dedicated years to teaching future generations of legal professionals. For over a decade, he has taught law at the DeLaSalle-College of Saint Benilde, focusing on subjects like Taxation, Corporation Law, Investment Law, Agrarian Reform and Accounting for Non-Accountants. This experience in academia reflects a commitment to education and mentorship, which he views as central to fostering an informed and active citizenry.

From helping those in need to potentially advocating on a national scale, Redoble’s journey from pro bono lawyer to aspiring congressman captures a dedication to service that resonates with voters seeking genuine change. For him, a seat in Congress would be a natural next step to expand his impact—this time, with a platform that could serve the public in an even broader capacity.
