5 foreign nationals nabbed in PH, set for deportation – BI
MANILA, Philippines — Five foreign nationals were arrested in separate operations and will be deported as undesirable aliens, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Thursday.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said the apprehended foreigners include an American, a Chinese, a Taiwanese, and two South Koreans.
They were identified as Paul Raymond Ross, 66; Ji Shunchao, 64; Ye Tian Hao, 32; Jung Yunjae, 26; and Jeon Hyeonuk, 41, respectively.

Viado said that Ross, who is wanted in Pennsylvania for extortion and harassment, was arrested on December 2 in Kabankalan City, Negros Oriental.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, South Koreans Yunjae and Hyeonuk were arrested in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, on December 3. Viado revealed that both are wanted for kidnapping.
Article continues after this advertisement“The duo has an outstanding warrant of arrest issued by the Ulsan District Court in Korea where they were charged for luring a victim to work in Cambodia as a model for indecent advertisements,” he added.
On December 6, Ji was apprehended for “claiming fraudulent tax refunds.” Viado revealed that the Shishi Municipal Public Security Bureau in China wanted him.

Lastly, on December 8, Ye was arrested in Pasay City following a warrant of arrest issued by the district prosecutor in Taichung, Taiwan, where he faces charges of fraud.
“There will be no letup in our campaign to catch and expel these fugitives whose presence here poses a serious threat to public safety and security,” the BI commissioner added.
The five suspects are currently detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, while awaiting deportation proceedings.
