BI to deport 3 foreigners arrested in Pampanga, Makati

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Monday said it is set to deport three foreigners arrested in Pampanga and Makati City due to their alleged involvement in fraud and kidnapping.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado identified two of the foreigners as  Park Chang Suk, 41, and Lee Yunwoo, 39, who were arrested on Nov. 12 at the  Clark Freeport in Angeles  City by the BI fugitive search unit (FSU).

According to Viado, the two Koreans were arrested after a request from the Korean government for thr arrest of Park due to his involvement in a large-scale fraud.

Lee was later arrested for overstaying and sheltering Park.

“They will be deported after our board of commissioners has issued the order for his summary deportation.  He will then be included in our blacklist of undesirable aliens and banned from re-entering the Philippines,” Viado said.

Citing the BI Interpol unit, Viado said Park is subject of a blue notice issued by Seoul Interpol after he was charged with fraud at the Suwon district court in Korea.

Park is said to have deceived his victims into granting him loans worth 80 million won, or about $57,000.

Meanwhile, a Chinese woman, identified as Yu Yue, 36, was also arrested in San Antonio Plaza Arcade, Makati City on Nov. 14.

BI FSU arrested Yu for being wanted for kidnapping in her home country.

The BI said the arrest was conducted citing a  warrant  issued by the Public Security Bureau in Jinjiang City, China last June 14.

All three aliens are detained at the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending deportation proceedings.
