MANILA, Philippines — The Indonesian Navy training ship KRI Bima Suci arrived in Manila on Tuesday morning for a four-day goodwill visit.
The vessel docked at Pier 15 in South Harbor around 9 a.m.

According to the Indonesian Embassy, the ship is on its mission to “spread peace and goodwill” to eight countries, including the Philippines, its last stop before heading back to Indonesia.
Other countries it already visited are Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, South Korea, Russia, and Japan.
During its four-day stay in the Philippines, the ship’s crew will conduct a drum band display and cultural parade at the Legazpi Active Park in Makati City on October 16.
“The event will highlight Indonesian-Philippine cultural performances and a parade of traditional costumes. It will also have an Open Ship invitation for the public on the morning of October 16 and an onboard reception for the diplomatic community on October 17,” the embassy said.
According to the embassy, the KRI Bima Suci’s visit to the Philippines is also part of a year-long celebration commemorating the 75th anniversary of Indonesia and the Philippines’ Diplomatic Relations this year.
It is the ship’s third visit to the Philippines following its first in October 2018 and second in August 2019.
KRI Bima Suci was launched in September 2017. It is one of the largest tall ships worldwide and can load up to 200 people.
