Taiwan issues sea warning for Typhoon Chedeng
TAIPEI, Taiwan—Taiwan is warning ships about dangerous maritime conditions as Typhoon Chedeng (Songda) approaches seas off the island.
The Central Weather Bureau said Chedeng was moving toward the Bashi Channel that divides Taiwan and the Philippines on Friday, packing winds of 122 miles (198 kilometers) per hour.
It asks ships off the southern and southeastern parts of the island to be on the lookout out for rough seas.
