Hungary’s foreign affairs minister set to visit PH, says DFA

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjárto will visit the Philippines on June 13, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

MANILA, Philippines — Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjárto will visit the Philippines on June 13, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

In a statement on Tuesday, DFA said the visit is part of Szijjártó’s Southeast Asia tour.

“Foreign Minister Szijjártó will meet with Secretary Enrique Manalo. The bilateral meeting between the two Ministers also serves as the 8th iteration of the Philippines-Hungary Political Consultations. The 7th round of Political Consultations was held in Budapest in 2022,” said DFA.

“The visit highlights the ongoing celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Hungary,” it added.

Apart from meeting Manalo, DFA said Szijjártó will also meet with Trade and Industry chief Alfredo Pascual and Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac.

DFA, on the other hand, identified  Hungary as a key partner of the Philippines in the areas of education, water technology, agriculture, culture, and sports.
