MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is set to embark on a working visit to Germany and the Czech Republic from March 11 to March 15, said the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Thursday.

“President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Maria Louise Araneta-Marcos have been invited by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for a working visit to Germany, and by Czech President Petr Pavel for a state visit to the Czech Republic,” said the PCO in a statement.
In Germany, Marcos will meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Meanwhile, in the Czech Republic, Marcos is set to meet the four heads of government of the Czech Republic, namely President Petr Pavel, Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Senate President Miloš Vystrčil, and President of the Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová.
“The President’s trip to the two Central European nations follows the visits to Manila of Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala in April 2023 and German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in January 2024. This endeavor seeks to strengthen bilateral relations and foster increased cooperation with the two nations,” said the PCO.
According to the PCO, Marcos will also meet with the business leaders of each country, as well as the Filipino communities living there.
These visits mark Marcos’ fourth and fifth countries visited in 2024 so far.
In January, he traveled to Brunei for the royal wedding of Prince Abdul Mateen. Within the same month, he went to Vietnam for a state visit.
In February and March, Marcos traveled to Australia twice.
