MANILA, Philippines — The remains of Jullebee Ranara, the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was killed in Kuwait, will be brought to the Philippines on Friday night, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Thursday.
“I could tell you that they’ve also worked, the embassies really worked with the employer so that the remains will be brought home, and that would be Friday night,” DFA Undersecretary Eduardo Jose de Vega said in a press briefing.
Ranara, a 35-year-old household service worker, was killed by the 17-year-old son of her employer. Her charred body was found in a desert in Kuwait.

The DFA official said Ranara’s employer shouldered the expense of bringing home the OFW’s remains to the Philippines.
“In this case, obviously, the employer, being the suspect’s father, had no problem funding it. But that was negotiated, it was worked out by the embassy,” said de Vega.
According to the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, the suspect has already been arrested.
