MANILA, Philippines — Kristie Kenney, a former US ambassador to the Philippines, has joined the outpouring of condolences for the family of the late President Fidel Ramos.
In a Facebook post, Kenney said Ramos was a “patriot who dedicated his life to public service” who “vigorously supported strong Philippine-US relations.”
“He was also a big and lively personality — full of wit and fun,” she said. “I feel so fortunate to have known him. We have lost a great man.”
Ramos, the Philippines’ 12th president died on Sunday at the age of 94.
His wake is from Aug. 4 to 8, according to his family.
