MANILA, Philippines — Four more diplomats from Europe and Singapore are set to pay a visit to president-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ahead of his inauguration next month.
UK Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils, Singapore Ambassador Gerard Ho, European Union Ambassador Luc Veron, and France Ambassador Michele Boccoz will meet with Marcos Jr. at the latter’s headquarters in Mandaluyong City on Monday.
The meetings are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, according to Marcos Jr.’s office.
Last week, Japanese Ambassador Koshikawa Kazuhiko, South Korean Ambassador Kim Inchul, Indian Ambassador Shambhu S. Kumaran, and United States Chargé d’Affaires Heather Variava also paid a visit to Marcos Jr.
During the meetings, Marcos Jr. said among those discussed were partnerships on strengthening economy, technology, and security.
Marcos Jr. was proclaimed last week as the 17th president of the Republic of the Philippines after receiving over 31 million votes.
Marcos’ running mate for the 2022 national elections, Davao City mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, also won the vice presidential race.
