Robinsons Place Antipolo: Winner of the Most Bicycle-Friendly Large Commercial Establishment

Robinsons Place Antipolo was recognized as the Nationwide Winner of the Most Bicycle-Friendly Large Commercial Establishment in the recently concluded Mobility Awards 2021.

The Mobility Award is based on five I’s: Infrastructure, Integration, Implementation, Innovation, and Inclusivity.

Present during the awarding were (from L-R) ICSC Administrative and Finance Assistant Dianne Benaya, ICSC Associate for Program Development Maria Golda Hilario, 350 Pilipinas Volunteers Fread De Mesa and Johnny Guarin, Mobility Awards National Coordinator Celine Tabinga, 350.org Asia Regional Finance Campaigner Chuck Baclagon, Robinsons Malls Operations Director Myron Lawrence Yao, Robinsons Malls Regional Operations Manager Jodee Paulette P. Arroyo, Robinsons Malls Mall Operations Manager Bernard Santiago, Robinsons Malls Housekeeping Manager Evelyn Villavicencio, Robinsons Malls Housekeeping Supervisor James Robert Cuya and Robinsons Malls Security Manager Reginald Nardo.

Under the Infrastructure and Innovation criteria, Robinsons Place Antipolo was lauded for creating a   secure bike parking area, complete with bike racks and self-service repair stations.  

The Mall also received high ratings under Integration and Implementation for its partnership with the Antipolo LGU and bike groups in promoting biking as a way of commuting or for wellness reasons.  It was also cited for its Inclusivity – providing senior citizens and PWD-friendly with bike facilities.

Robinsons Place Antipolo continues to prioritize the safety of a huge population of bikers and promoting cycling as a reliable, efficient, and environment-friendly mode of transportation. 

The Mobility Awards is organized by the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC), MNL Moves, The Climate Reality Project Philippines, 350.org Pilipinas, and Pinay Bike Commuter together with 25 regional partners composed of civic groups. It is a platform that recognizes acts of leadership by Philippine local governments, workplaces, and commercial establishments promoting cycling as a reliable, efficient, and sustainable mode of transport among their constituencies, customers, employees, and communities.
